The unit this goes into was a game changer for someone with asthma during our home reno. The filters inside trap a lot of dirt and the previous one has been vacuumed a couple of times with a hepa vacuum to make it last before replacing since they're not cheap! I know this works since the inner hepa remains clean longer. I also place a cut-to-fit carbon filter that I buy for my Honeywell hepa
