Description
The Hessaire 12 Inch Exhaust Fan easily removes heat, fumes, and odors from any garage, residential greenhouse, or workspace up to 300 square feet. Perfect for replacing existing standard exhaust fan openings, select either a three-speed or variable speed fan option. Made in the USA, it is durably built for long-lasting use.

Dual Fan Speed Options
Select either the three-speed or variable fan speed for ventilating up to 300 square feet of attic, basement, or greenhouse space.
- Three-Speed Fan: Get 1,100 cubic feet of airflow per minute (CFM) with low, medium, and high speeds.
- Variable Speed Fan: With a variable fan speed, move up to 900 cubic feet of air per minute (CFM).
**A three- or eight-amp variable speed motor controller is required to adjust fan speed on the variable fan option and is sold separately. It should be installed by a certified electrician.

Pervious owners put a flat roof on the garage with no ventilation; it gets hot, so I needed fan to help ventilate it. The price was right, so I got this 12 incher. First for the bad -- despite the good packing, there were a couple of defects on arrival. One of the corners had curled up, which I was able to straighten with pliers. Also, one of the blades had bent, and it was hitting the front of the frame, so I had to bend it back, as well. Finally, the knob was stripped, so I am currently using pliers to turn the 3-speed switch. None of these issues are permanent and do not affect functionality at this point. The fan feels solid and the case is aluminum, so it won't rust. I mounted it on a metal door in my garage with rivets (3/16 x 1/2 and a wide head did the trick). I did have to tweak that bent blade a couple of times to stop a chirping noise, but once I got it straight it is pretty quiet to my ears (remember, it's in a garage). I am satisfied, so far. I am waiting for my windee vent to put on the aluminum door, and then I will be set.

This works perfectly for what I needed. We use it as an exhaust fan for a smoking room. The only disadvantage is the noise level. We only use it on LOW speed as it works great on the lowest speed. However, if I had it to do over again I believe I would get a variable speed one so I could control the noise level in such a small space. Great value for the price though.

I'm using the fan to exhaust the hot air out of my woodshop. It's handy to have the different speeds as the high speed tries to keep the door across the shop from closing. The one thing I did not like was the directions stating the rough opening was 12.5""x12.5"" and the guard on the fan was 13"" in diameter....either the directions were wrong or should have stated that the guard had to be removed.
