Description

Mirrored floor plans normally force you to specify two different ventilators, one for each airflow orientation. The plug-in Broan EDGE BLP130E80NS-PC 130 CFM Energy Recovery Ventilator ends that problem with an integrated selection switch that reverses the supply and exhaust configuration on the spot.

Heat and moisture transfer happens inside the core, so incoming air arrives closer to your indoor temperature before entering your home. Broan built this ERV for harsh winters and humid summers alike, and the low-profile gray cabinet fits shallow ceiling cavities and utility walls in residential builds.

Key Features and Benefits of the Broan EDGE BLP130E80NS-PC 130 CFM Energy Recovery Ventilator

VIRTUO Technology: Auto-balancing, self-adjusting airflow saves time on installation and keeps the ventilator in balance afterward.
131 CFM Airflow: Energy-efficient ECM PMSM motors provide airflow at 0.2 inches water gauge for steady ventilation.
TrueCFM Verification: TrueCFM monitoring confirms delivered airflow from installation through inspection, so your commissioning numbers still hold when the inspector arrives.
Flip-Switch Configuration: An integrated selection switch swaps the airflow configuration, letting one model serve both left-hand and right-hand floor plans.
Two Mounting Orientations: Wall and ceiling mounting in horizontal or vertical positions gives you placement options to accommodate various applications.
LCD Airflow Setting: The electronic LCD screen lets you dial airflow in 1-CFM increments and shows live CFM and watt readings as you tune.
Variable Airflow Range: Continuous output adjusts from 30 to 131 CFM, so you can match ventilation to occupancy instead of overventilating.
Compact Cabinet: Measures 18.625 x 28.125 x 9.875 inches (H x W x D) and weighs 34 pounds, giving you dimensions and weight for installation planning.
Low Power Draw: It's rated at 150 watts and 2.4 amps maximum for plug-in connection to a 110-120 volt outlet instead of waiting on a hardwired circuit.
5-Inch Side Ports with Integrated Dampers: Round duct collars on the side of the cabinet have integrated magnetic backdraft dampers to keep unconditioned air out when the system is not running.
Certified Performance: HVI-certified airflow ratings and California Title 24 compliance give you documented numbers for permit and energy code paperwork.

Installation Versatility

The compact footprint provides location flexibility with the smaller overall product envelope, and reduces cost by requiring a smaller access door size. This unit can be installed in a a ceiling or wall, vertically or horizontally. The Infield Selectable Airflow Configuration simplifies location choice, ductwork routing, and installation configuration.

Sylvane's Expert Take

Specify this ERV for residential new construction or a retrofit where mechanical space is shallow and the climate places year-round demands on ventilation. It suits spaces that need installation flexibility rather than a fixed airflow orientation. The key buying consideration is to match its adjustable output to your home's ventilation plan and its simple power-cord electrical connection. Its most important capabilities are adjustable output and ongoing balance control.
