4-Stage Air Cleaning System
The GermGuardian AC5350 HEPA Tower Plus Air Purifier uses a 4-stage air cleaning system to scrub your air clean of impurities. It uses:
- Charcoal/Activated Carbon Pre-Filter: Captures large dust particles, lint, and pet hair and removes odors from smoking, cooking, and pets.
- True HEPA Filter: Captures 99.99% of airborne particles, such as dust mites, mold spores, pollens, pet dander, and other debris.
- UV-C Light Technology: Optional UV-C light technology is also used to further enhance the air purifier's filtration. UV-C light effectively penetrates and kills viruses, bacteria, and other germs.

I don't know why we waited so long to buy an air purifier. We live in Los Angeles, where the air quality is constantly poor. I'm so glad that we bought this one, though, because I finally stopped coughing at night and feeling like my nose was so stuffed up in the morning. It eliminated cooking odors (fish, steak) completely within minutes of turning it on. Setting 5 is a little loud, but you can sleep through it and consider it white noise. Setting 4 is audible. Settings 3 and lower are hardly noticeable. We usually keep it on 3 throughout the day. Our white unit blends in with our surrounding white kitchen cabinets, so we're very happy with it.
