Info & Guides

When moisture threatens your equipment, inventory, or structural integrity in a commercial facility, you need a dehumidifier that matches the scale of the problem. The Quest Hi-E Dry 195 Dehumidifier is a portable industrial solution that plugs in without hardwiring. With four casters and a compact footprint, you can position it wherever humidity is highest and move it when conditions change.

You can run this dehumidifier as a freestanding portable unit or connect it to ductwork for multi-room coverage. It operates in temperatures from 56 to 110 degrees F, with automatic defrost keeping the coils functional at the low end of that range.

Key Features and Benefits of the Quest Hi-E Dry 195 Dehumidifier

  • High Capacity: Removes up to 195 pints of moisture per day at AHAM conditions (80 degrees F and 60 percent RH), giving you the power to manage heavy humidity loads in commercial and industrial spaces.
  • Energy Efficiency: Achieves 6.1 pints per kilowatt-hour, so you get high-volume moisture removal without proportionally high electricity costs.
  • Internal Pump: Built-in condensate pump lifts water up to 17 feet vertically through the included 30-foot drain hose, letting you drain continuously without relying on gravity.
  • Airflow Output: Moves air at up to 610 CFM, accelerating moisture removal across open floor plans and large rooms.
  • Muffler Accessory: With a max airflow capacity of 610 CFM, the Quest Hi-E Dry 195 can be quite loud when used in enclosed locations. That noise can be mitigated by the Quest Hi-E Dry Muffler Kit, which minimizes noise output without compromising performance.
  • Eco-Friendly Refrigerant: Features R-454B refrigerant, which has a 78 percent lower global warming potential than previous formulations, reducing your environmental impact while maintaining strong dehumidification.
  • Air Filtration: The integrated MERV 11 filter captures airborne contaminants including dust and mold spores during operation, helping you maintain cleaner air while dehumidifying.
  • Ductable Design: Using the optional Quest Ducting Kit upgrade, it fits to a 12-inch duct inlet for routing dry air into adjacent rooms or enclosed areas.
  • Digital Humidistat: Electronic controls let you set target humidity anywhere between 20 and 80 percent relative humidity for precise moisture management.
  • Safety Certified: UL rated and ETL listed for commercial and industrial applications, meeting rigorous safety standards.

Confirm Your Facility Is Ready for the Hi-E Dry 195

Before you position this dehumidifier, confirm that your facility has a NEMA 5-20P outlet on a dedicated 20-amp circuit at 120 volts. Measuring 42 x 20 x 19 inches (H x W x L) and weighing 130 pounds, it fits through standard commercial doorways, though you may want a second person for transport. The 10-foot power cord provides some positioning flexibility, but map out outlet locations relative to your highest-humidity areas before committing to a spot.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you manage a warehouse or industrial facility where humidity control is non-negotiable, the Hi-E Dry 195 is built for your needs. Residential-grade dehumidifiers and even many other commercial dehumidifiers often offer a fraction of this capacity and typically depend on gravity drainage or small buckets that need constant attention. This Quest dehumidifier's built-in condensate pump lifts water up to 17 feet vertically, so you can place it in a below-grade mechanical area or a recessed basement storage area and route drainage upward to a floor drain without adding external pumps or improvising hose runs.

    Extremely Loud!

When I first got this, I was disappointed at how loud it is. It seriously sounds like a jet engine on a taxiway. I’m using it for an indoor pool room, and I was questioning whether I need to return it. It was also cycling on and off excessively, even with humidity so low that it should not turn on at all. Since then, the story got better. The excessive cycling went away after the first day, that might have been the machine initializing itself. And, just today I noticed that there’s now a “muffler kit” for $84 to quiet it down. It’s annoying to pay extra for that, but I bought one today and will give it a try.

very reliable and does what it should.

I've been using this in my 3240 sf shop for 6 years. I'm in the south and the humidity level is very high in the summer. I don't have any air conditioning in the space so I thought I would try this instead. I have it set for 52 percent and it gets it there and keeps it there. It has made the space very comfortable in the summer. I am buying a second one for another space. Great unit.

I recommend this product I like it.

I bought this machine to install in a closed pool area, it is working as I expected and so far I am satisfied with the dehumidification result.
