I installed this between a dehumidifier and the A/C supply ductwork as specified in my dehumidifier's installation instructions. Compared to the spring loaded models in the home centers, it is relatively expensive. But since i didn't know the exact differences in function I opted to buy the one made for this specific application. Before I sealed the ductwork it rattled a bit and that could be annoying - but that got better after I taped up the ducts.
